Things to live by.....

Everyone needs a pick me up sometimes, whether it be a rough day or just a funk, so here's some words of encouragement that put a smile on my face:

Live your dream and wear your passion. YOU CAN DO IT,  I promise.

Fancy That Wedding : Amy & Dave

October 8, 2011 - Palazzo Grande

It was such a treat to be able to work with this couple. Amy and Dave have been together for many years now and we're completely taken by each other. I've known the bride for a few years now, so that made planning her event even more special for me.

The feeling the bride wanted to portray was elegance, beauty, but still have some pops of their own personal flair. With bridesmaids dressed in black A-line dresses and the groomsmen dressed in 50's style gangster tuxes, it couldn't have been more appropriate for the couple.

With the bouquets consisting of white hydrangeas, pink roses and green hypericum accents it kept the feeling very romantic. As well as the white calla lily boutonnieres bringing the elegance. It was a beautiful wedding and just as wonderful as the couple.

Congratulations Amy & Dave!

Fancy That Wedding : Lindsay & Chris

May 11, 2012-Macray Harbor

We recently partnered with The Darling Empire to bring Lindsay & Chris the wedding of their dreams. Lindsay was looking for a romantic, whimsical and vintage feeling for her big day. To achieve that feeling, we created multiple arrangements of peonies, hydrangea, roses and anemones for each table.

Every arrangement was unique and in different vases such as ball jars collected by the bride. The combination of flowers and colors transformed the event and made it a night to remember.

Congratulations Lindsay & Chris!

Where it all began

I've always had a passion for flowers. I guess you could say it's in my blood. I come from a family of green thumbs. My father owned a flower shop, my mother is a landscape designer and an organic farmer, and my older sister also works in a flower shop in Grand Rapids. So, naturally I had an obsession with flowers.

When I saw the first wedding my father ever did, I knew what my calling was. I loved everything about the wedding planning process. I loved the choosing of colors and the pictures brides would bring in of bouquets and centerpieces that they had found and fell in love with. But most of all, I loved the idea of creating someones special day to look exactly how they had always imagined.

This couldn't be a more exciting and gratifying job. There's the saying that " Work doesn't feel like work when you love what you do." That couldn't be more true for me. I love absolutely everything about what I do. I hope that it shows in the my work. This is my whole heart and soul, shown through flowers.

Fancy That Wedding: Jessica & Rick

July 20, 2012 - Infinite & Ovation Charter Yacht

This wedding was very special to me. Jessica and I had lived together for a while, when she met Rick. The connection was instantaneous. They were so in love and everyone could see it. So it was no surprise when they became engaged. Their wedding was on a beautifully sunny day, upon a yacht on lake St. Clair.

Purple was the main focus when it came to the flowers, it being Jessica's favorite color. We chose purple hydrangea with a couple of bright pops of color with the pink roses and green hydrangea. I couldn't have been happier to see these two wed. I'm excited to see what their future holds.

Congratulations Jessica & Rick!
